WaitZar Romaized Myanmar Input System

Prince Ka Naung - Unify Converter Engine & Myanmar IME

Introduction

Burmese code conversion engine for various Burmese fonts encoded text data and unify Myanmar input method editor.

Prince Ka Naung is a brand name chosen and which has community effort and building tool for the sake of better Myanmar computing and language technology aspect, as opensource/free software. Each developer may join in as each own prefer way of implementation and setup development environment (SDE). Currently, Prince Ka Naung has two expecting products and each product has its own individual proposals and discussions.

Prahita Opensource Project aims for enabling Myanmar Unicode in Opensource Softwares (mainly in GNU/Linux). The development may include Libraries, Fonts and Other utilites. The first step now is Myanmar Pango Module and may extend to Myanmar Linux Distribution / LiveCD.

Myanmar Unicode Implementation Public Awareness Table

Update As Of 05 April 2008

Today, 05.04.08, Unicode 5.1 has released. Thus, the following article infomation is under revising process and, will update accordingly as of until this message has been taken away. The new and enhancement standard is implied in Unicode 5.1, therefore, from Unicode 5.1 and UTN11-2 compliant Burmese script shall be irrelevant with all its previous revisions. As from development/implementation and expert view, with Unicode 5.1 and UTN11-2 standard, Myanmar Burmese script shall be perfect and completed for Myanmar computing linguistic needs.

Objectives

  • Native independant but Native support (currently Burmese)
  • Abstructing layer of core kollectionary engine and native display
  • To achieve every native language online slang dictionary/kollectionary (currently focus on Burmese, in future I18N)

 

UniMM - UniBurma

UniMM - UniBurma is another myanmar unicode font research project for opensouce. UniBurma packages are earlier release sources which are now under maintaining back as of V2 releases. New path of UniMM is currently under going/awaiting for next release of unicode.org standard, Microsoft Opentype specification for Burmese and etc..

Burglish Converter Project

The aim of this project is to develop an intelligent system that can recognize non-standardized burglish words and return corresponding burmese letters. The research and development for this project are suspended for the moment, but the demo system is available online.
